- Which system files are used by the program?
Q:The program uses system files which are typically stored in the Windows\System32 directory. Because these files are used under some circumstances also by other programs, it could come in same cases to version conflicts. To prevent this conflict required system files will be directly copied into the program directory of the Dagobert-Dachs Installation. Typically you find the program directory in C:\Program files\Dagobert_Dachs
(depending on the path you have specified during the installation).
The system files are stored in the program directory - so it is in the same folder where also the executable program D-DACHS.EXE is.
You should find there the following system files:
Filename Version number Comcat.dll 5.0.2195.1 Comctl32.ocx 6.0.80.22 Comdlg32.ocx 6.0.88.77 MSCHRT20.OCX 6.0.88.4 MSCOMCTL.OCX 6.1.97.82 MSCOMCT2.OCX 6.1.97.82 MSINET.OCX 6.1.97.82 TABCTL32.OCX 6.1.97.82
If you lack one of the files listed mentioned above - this could lead to conflicts, because the program uses then the files from the Windows\System32 directory. Copy then please the being absent file (s) - while you click with a right mouse click on the above filename and save the file in your program directory ("save as").
A new installation also fulfils this purpose.
TIP: A renewed program installation can overwrite, possibly, files in the DATA directory. There are, e.g., from you created portfolios or other program preferences (tradingsystems etc.). For this reason save this directory please before you start a new installation (e.g., while you rename the directory DATA in DATA_Copy. - At which time of day new quotes are available?
Q:The stock exchange closes in the USA at 22.00 o'clock MET. Then it takes some hours before the dates are available for the download. End of day quotes (also called an EoD (End of Day)) are available from 2.00 o'clock at night for downloading. - How many stocks are available in the program?
Q:In principle all stocks that are available at Yahoo-Finance can be imported into the program.
All important indexes have already been installed.
At the moment (Oct., 2009) more than 9,000 stocks are available and grouped into lists / sectors and portfolios and are available therefore in the program.
At the moment currencies are not available. - How long does it take to update the stock quotes ?
Q:On a standard PC with a DSL 6000 connection it takes approx. 5-8 minutes to update the stock quotes of 10,000 stocks.
